Mini minor league champs!!!!

The Pirates pulled it off in the playoffs, 3 for 3, taking down the undefeated Braves team in the championship game last night!! It was a nail biter! We were sweating to the last second as we were the away team and the Braves had the last at bat. William, new to the infield, played 2nd or 3rd base the entire game. He played awesome! He made the best throw to 1st from 3rd base that I have ever seen him throw. Billy & I are so proud of how much he has learned, grown in the sport, and given his all to each game. He is for sure the most improved player on the team.
He got invited to be part of a 6/7 all star team which plays a tournament in Ventura the 13th-25th of June. I'm super proud of him, but, I'm a little on the fence about it. Practices would be 3-4 times a week starting tomorrow until the tournament. I'm not sure how many games there are in the tournament in Ventura and I don't know how much of these commitments will conflict with church. We struggled through the entire season with half of Williams games being on Sundays. It was a bummer for William to miss out so much and a bummer to leave the team short handed. I do not want to go through that again for an all star team. The schedule hasn't been posted for the team yet... but he did make the team. I just feel bad for dragging around the other 3 kids all the time. They were such good sports through this entire season, but it was hard. Always packing dinners and snacks to keep everyone happy through late evenings, lots of late nights coming home since we don't live super close to the fields, watching 3 busy kids on the bleachers while trying to watch the games.... I'm kind of over it. I need a break and I don't know if I could do another month of this. On the other hand, what a great opportunity for William to gain more training, experience, and confidence on the field. If only Billy was done with Probation and could guaranty he could help with all the shuttling and practices. It's just too hard to keep doing it on my own with the other kids in tow.
Well, I will stop dwelling on all that and we will just stick with the celebration of league champions! CONGRATULATIONS WILLIAM and the Pirate team. You all played like all stars!!!

pretty crappy documentation of the evening... but at least we got some!

Zachary's first tooth- gone!

Zachary lost his first tooth on Saturday night, wiggled it right out during story time in bed! I can't believe that he is old enough to be loosing teeth already... he is growing up way to fast.
He wrote a note to the tooth fairy, with William's coaching, and was only slightly pleased with what she brought him in the morning. He had asked for 6 things. (Nothing specific, just things) The tooth fairy rounded up a piece of bubble gum, a starburst, a tootsie roll, a sticker, a quarter, and a dime. He was hoping for 6 toys. What can you do. :)

Pirates to the play offs!

William played his last game of the season this past Friday, but his team was good enough to make it to the playoffs. So this Friday they go up against the number 4 team... the Pirates were number 3!
It has been fun to watch William learn and improve so much in the game of baseball during this past season. I initially was not to happy about his coach, how much he seemed to yell and not be positive at all. But, William hasn't seemed to be affected at all by this and really likes his team and coach. I have come to understand that sports just bring this type of behavior out in most men/ dads, and I think his coach is a nice guy and has done a fine job.
Taking pictures at Williams games has been a bit more challenging with the fence in between us, but I think I got a few good shots of him this past Friday. He gets a hit every time he comes up to the plate and runs like the wind to first base. He mostly was in the out field, being in his first season of base ball ever, but he did make his way to the in field by the end of the season for some of the innings. He loved playing the pitchers spot and also enjoyed catcher. Go William!! I have loved watching all your games this season :)

Birthday boys

We had a crazy busy week! Monday was the kick off, Jameson's 4th birthday. I'm still having a hard time believing little Jameson is 4. He wanted a fireman birthday and thank goodness for that. Billy was working and so we took dinner and birthday cake to the fire station after baseball practice. Jameson hung out in the TV room with a bunch of the fire fighters, captains, and chief. Billy pulled the fire engine out of the bay and all the boys took turns squirting water with the hose and nozzle. They loved it! Dinner was a hit and funfetti birthday cake was the perfect ending to our long Monday. Jameson is such a special and wonderful boy. He is a perfect addition to our family. He has been so easy going about running both his brothers to their baseball practices and games, hanging out without a complaint, and always smiling. He has a good time no matter what he is doing and he loves his brothers and sister very much. I love my little Jameson!

Thursday was Zachary's birthday. 6 years old already! Zachary had his last tee ball game that evening and I arranged an end of the season/ birthday celebration with the team after the game. Cupcakes were made and Costco pizza was picked up. Zachary got to pick out a tool box and a few tools to put in it for his birthday present from Mom and Dad. Thank goodness Home depot is right next to Costco and that my friend was able to take William to his practice down town so I didn't have to be on two sides of town at the same time!
The most special part of the day, I thought, was that Zachary spent the evening before his birthday and first thing the next morning making paper party hats for all the boys on his team. He did such a good job and worked really hard to get it done all by himself. ( I helped tie on the strings) They were so cute, straight from the heart.
Zachary is so sweet and so thoughtful. He is small but mighty. He was the best player on his tee ball team by far and loved every minute of his baseball season. It was so fun to watch him in his element out there. He is a joy to have around and is such a hard little worker! He loves playing with his brothers, loves doing school each day and loves, loves, loves his sister. I am so glad that Zachary is part of our family, I love him so much!

Happy Mothers Day!

My family surprised me today with the biggest card I have ever received in my life! They really put in all their best efforts to make such an amazing creation for me :) Billy is so creative. The boys loved telling me all the things that they each painted and how they did it, they were so excited to "give" this to me when I got home today. Billy had me drive the truck home from church today and I took my time... it was the perfect amount of time for them to get it all set up :) I sure love my family!!

Happy mothers day!

Life

I saw this in the morning and had to get a picture... this is my life right now in a nut shell. :)

Fun times on the play ground today once we finished school.
