March Madness

How is it that i can't make it a Sunday tradition to post about the week!  Now it's been 2 weeks and so much has happened it's almost a big blur.
Of course, lots of baseball.  That's a given right now.
My cousin Lisa came up on the 16th with her family and dogs- and gave us their dogs!  We now have a black lab and a german shepard.  They are not quite 2 years old, full of energy, and in need of some training.  If we didn't have our hands full before, we do now. :)  They are such good dogs though and i can't wait until they are familiar with me enough and trained enough that i can take them on runs without a leash!  Hooray for running partners!  They love hanging out with us and love our almost daily trips to the creek and river.  Rivie, the shepard, LOVES the water!

Leila had a birthday!  I can't believe she is 4 years old. She wasn't feeling the best on her birthday, but we managed to get to the zoo for an hour... one of the things she said she wanted to do.  I made her funfetti cupcakes and turned them chocolate with a box of pudding mix- so she would actually indulge in funfetti. Haha.

We took a family hike up to the old hotsprings hotel ruins.  The wildflowers are out of this world right now after all the blessed rain we have received.  The kids did great, as always, and i got to see a piece of the course i would be running the next day.

Billy and I ran the 9 trails relay on Saturday the 23rd.  Boy was it a tough course to run with the minimal amount of training i had.  18 miles of up and downs across the front country from Romero to San Roque.  Took me 5 hours, took Billy 5 hours as well going the other way.  It was beautiful, but tough!

Lots of trips to the river with the dogs, lots of walks and working on training and bonding. We are to the point where we let them out in front with us when we are out there and they stick close by!

Yesterday we went on a family hike up sage hill to sit in the wild flowers.  The hillside is orange from our house, so we had to go check it out of close.  The kids picked me the most beautiful and colorful bouquets!

We have been on a sort of spring break.  Break from baseball games and Jameson's school.... the other two don't have spring break until the week before Easter.

Trying to keep up...

The weeks are filled to the brim with baseball and everything else that life brings.  We had opening day on Saturday, (i sang the National Anthem!) followed by 2 games at the same time on different fields- made for a long day. William and Zachary both had awesome first games!  They both were lead off hitters, both caught some innings, both played short stop, and Zachary pitched a couple innings as well! It was tricky to watch both games at once, to be there for both of them, but luckily the fields are right next to each other and there is a pretty good view of both from the middle section. So proud of both of these boys!

Jameson had his first game Sunday and rocked it!  He was also the lead off hitter, getting a hit every up.  Played all over the infield, had an awesome foul pop fly catch at 3rd and a smile on his face the entire game!  So proud of this fun loving, determined and tough, 6 year old boy. Just amazing skills mfor his age!

Leila and Jameson visited the dentist this past week as well.  They had great check ups with props from the dentist for their brushing skills.  Hooray for healthy teeth. They also both got poison oak pretty bad from searching for golf balls off our hill. :(  Big bummer.

Hopefully we had our last dusting of snow on the back mountains for the season.  I'm fine with more rain, just ready for warmer weather!

Baseball has begun!

Life is crazy and crazy fun now that baseball has begun.
Practices everyday, all over town, overlapping, and opening day is this Saturday.  2 games on opening day and 1 the next day..... Here we go boys! Here we go Mom- you've got this.  3 boys, 3 teams, 3 divisions. Deep breathe.  We will still make time for playing in the creek too.
